How to transfer a call?

Lets begin with the types of Call Transfer.

There are two types of Call Transfer that you can make using Setera Softphone. They are :

1. Blind Transfer

It allows you to transfer the call from calling party to another party directly even without the the consent of the party to which the call is being transferred. If the new party does not accept or rejects the transferred call, the call returns back to you again.

How to perform Blind transfer?

When there is connected call,

  • Click on Activate transfer button

Now, the call is on hold

  • Now, click on Contacts and find the contact to which you wish to transfer the call.
  • If you wish to transfer the call to external users, go to search space and type the number.
  • Now, Click on Transfer here button

Note: When the call gets connected to the new party, you get disconnected from the call.

2. Attended Transfer

Attended transfer makes it possible to transfer a call, while first getting the option to talk to the party where the call is being transferred. If the called party agrees to accept the transfer, the remote party can be connected with the new party and it is possible to leave the call.

How to perform attended transfer?

When there is connected call,

  • Click on Activate Transfer button
  • Now, make call to the party(contacts or any external users) to which you wish to transfer the call.

In the meantime, the first call will be on hold

  • Make your transfer request to the new party.
  • If the request is accepted, go back to the first call.
  • Now, go back to the second call and click on Transfer here button
  • If the new party is busy/rejects your transfer request then, you will again get connected back to the first call
